This intensive course is ideal for professionals working with people who risk developing altered body shapes like scoliosis, contractures and joint dislocations secondary to limited movement ability. Participants will:
- Identify the influence of immobility, gravity and time on spine, rib cage, pelvis and hips
- Understand external factors affecting implementation of 24-hour posture care management
- Appreciate behavioral changes and strategies that help when using this approach
- Understand how to safely apply 24-hour positioning in the lying orientation
- Distinguish between supportive and destructive postures, and predict distortions early
- Understand how sleep patterns and temperature regulation affect night positioning
- Get hands-on assessment, planning and implementation experience
